who is the spark lighting the match?

Maxwell Vasser, known to the hero community as Spark, is a simple enough man. At age 27, he's in (what he considers to be) the prime of his life. In his civilian life, he's a professional boxer, stepping into the ring and delivering the best fights he can. In the quiet of the night, though, Spark comes to life, defending civilians on the streets with flaming fists and superhuman strength.Standing at a solid 6'2" with a lean, muscular figure, Maxwell takes care of himself. While he might not speak much, don't confuse that for him being introverted or anything of the sort. Speaking just... isn't his strong suit. If he's talking more around you, that means he's comfortable. That's good. While he can read incoming attacks well enough, dodging them with enhanced reflexes, reading people is still something he struggles with. Be patient with him, and you'll gain a strong, loyal ally in return.He might train a little too hard sometimes, his desire to help people and to keep fit for the ring going too far, but it's never anything he can't recover from.

How do the flames burn?

Wielding the flames of an unknown origin, Maxwell has pyrokinetic abilities, on top of his enhanced strength and reflexes. Usually, his main use of these abilities involves igniting his fists for use in combat, but there can be other applications as well. Thankfully, he is also immune to his own flames, as well as fire in general doing little to nothing against him unless significantly stronger. (For Rivals related moments, it's not as strong there. Because chronovium or something. Game balancing.)Less frequently used pyrokinetic abilities include: Using his burning touch to melt objects, handling higher than normal heats (summer's not working up a sweat for him, that's for sure), as well as focused, high intensity bursts of heat for precision damage. More abilities to come as his powers develop.

Who struck the first match?

Maxwell grew up well enough in New York City, parents managing a comfortable enough living, but not wealthy by any means. He'd always had an affinity for boxing, so he began training from an early age in hopes of making it professionally, one day. His study outside of schooling was about various forms and techniques, he'd test out moves he saw in the gym, he practically lived and breathed boxing. He'd still graduate high school perfectly fine, but it was clear to everyone that knew him what his true passion was. His character was established at that early of an age, too, always standing up for others that couldn't stand up for themselves, even if it got him beaten up a few times. Despite the scoldings he'd got, he'd never stop doing it, though. Seeing others in need, he couldn't just stand by and let them get hurt.It was during one particularly eventful day, however, that things changed. As an adult, he was training in the gym one day, working the bag, hyping himself up internally, more than ever before, feeling like a raging inferno of determination when one of his punches seemed to... leave a strange mark on the bag. He'd scorched it, much to his confusion, and he wasn't sure how. So, he shook it off, chalking it up to a mark he'd missed on the bag, and starting again. After he slipped back into that mindset, it happened again, leaving another fist mark on the bag. Something was up. Had he awoken powers he'd never even known about? This time, he took a moment, concentrating and focusing on that feeling, delivering one punch filled with flames. And his life had never been the same since.After that day, Maxwell took up the name Spark, spending his time outside of training and professionally fighting (with no fire, he knows better) helping those that can't help themselves. New York's already packed with heroes, of course, but it didn't stop him from wanting to do his part. After all, sometimes, all people need to start that fire of determination inside themselves... is a Spark.

Note: While Maxwell is primarily designed for the Marvel Rivals universe, he can also exist perfectly well in mainline Marvel, DC, Overwatch or Dispatch universes. Verse specific changes will be minor, besides changing locations.
